Lyric Design & Planning is a multi-disciplinary architecture practice with expertise in complex vision plans, urban greening, and resilient infrastructure. We engage communities big and small to make thoughtful places in the public realm.
Principal, Siobhán Burke, AIA, LEED AP
Lyric is led by Principal, Siobhán Burke, a registered architect in California. She graduated with a Masters in Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture and holds undergraduate degrees in civil engineering and architecture from The Catholic University of America. As a member of the CSO Strategic Taskforce, Siobhán fosters inclusivity by engaging college-level design students in furthering the goals of LA County’s Sustainability Plan.
Siobhán collaborates and works with a diverse group of public agencies, community groups, landscape architects, engineers and non-profit organizations. She has taught studios and seminars on the subjects of sustainability at the Art Center College of Design and housing development at Woodbury University.
She is a current member and Past Vice President of the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design. Siobhán served for 5 years as an elected member of the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council. She continues to Chair the Hyperion Street Safety Coalition and remains involved in the Transportation & Mobility Committee as well as the Recreation Committee, advocating for safer streets and access to parks. She has also served on the Advisory Council for the Augustus Hawkins Critical Design and Gaming School in South Los Angeles.
Story-driven design is a keystone of our work. Lyric takes an organizational and collaborative approach to our projects - leading coordination and working alongside larger teams with stakeholders, community members, and consultants.
We believe community input is at the heart of every project’s potential success. And we consider how future plans might be leveraged for improving our environment in the long run.
Lyric’s projects consist of wide-ranging scales and budgets from sculptural installations to miles-long greenway connections, and campus-scaled and multi-city vision plans. Through these projects, Lyric has experience building inclusive placemaking for schools, public agencies, non-profit organizations, and advocacy organizations.
