Universal City Vision Plan
At Rios Clementi Hale Studios, Siobhán was the Project Architect for the NBC Universal Vision Plan, a complex 400-acre property comprised of several districts including a major theme park, Universal CityWalk, hotels, and business offices. Siobhán worked with the Real Estate division on a development plan that sought out the best residual land value for almost half of their property which was located on a hillside and within the viewshed of the Mulholland Drive Scenic Overlook. Developing sustainable design strategies Siobhán assisted in the creation of the Environmental Impact Report. She had regular interface with the client, land-use attorneys, environmental, traffic planning, and civil engineering consultants on developing a Specific Plan that would annex 200-acres of land in order to develop 2,000 units of housing. Working with the PR and Marketing teams, a clear messaging was issued to earn unanimous environmental approvals.
Growing tourism and industry at the “Times Square of the West” meant finding creative solutions to mitigating vehicular traffic by encouraging the use of local Metro and shuttle systems, specifically building a pedestrian bridge across 8-lane Lankershim Boulevard.
